FAQ

Is This a coating?
No, it’s a complete treatment to the core and is a one time permanent change.

Does this  process change the dimensions of my tool?
No, it’s changes is in the crystal structure which is in the molecular range hence no change in dimensions.

Can coated tool bits be Cryogenically treated?
Yes, it works well on coated or uncoated tool bits giving the same “magical” effect

What are the tool bits can I treat and what composition of tool bits works best?
All tool bits be it ferrous or non ferrous benefits from Nitrotech treatment. As a rule with metals, the higher the alloy content, the better it will work.

The example of tools would be Drills, Taps, Lathe Tools, Shaper Bits, Cut Off-tools, Hobs, Saw Blades, Punches, Dies, Shear Blades, Slitting Knives, Steel Rule, Dies, Skiving Blades, Chain saws, Broaches, Milling Tools, Router Bits, Almost Any Cutting Tool

Will this Cryogenic treatment damage my parts?

No, our technology uses a proprietary chemical which is neutral in pH and non-corrosive, hence it is non damaging to any surfaces at all.

Can the increase of wear be predicted?
No, the tool cannot be predicted accurately due to the unknown factor of how good is the initial material the tool was to be begin with. In non-ferrous application, the same will hold true, its going to depend on the crystal structure to begin with.

Can I replace some of the higher cost tool steels with lower cost, easier to machine tools by using Nitrotech treatment?

That is entirely possible for some applications. However, you should not try to change the rules. Every application must be first be evaluated on its own merit. These parameters can be evaluated in order to choose the right steel grade accomplish that specific application.
